There are mandatory laws that boiler manufacturers have to keep in mind in the conceptualization and production of these boilers.

In fact, boiler manufacturers are required by law to provide AFUE information to all of their consumers. This way, customers can then compare just how effective the different boiler models in the market are in terms of providing heat. To be more specific, AFUE is actually measured by computing for the ratio of the boiler’s heat output against the total amount of energy that the boiler uses.

However, it is not just the AFUE of the boiler system that should be considered when determining how efficient a particular boiler is. All pieces of equipment used in the whole boiler system also have significant roles in the efficiency of the whole system. Thus, you have to make sure that the equipment you use is indeed of high-end quality.

A strong indication that you have a high-efficiency boiler system is the presence of an exhaust fan. More importantly, this exhaust fan should have the ability to control the flow of both combustion gases and combustion air. Electronic ignition is also included in the system, which makes the whole system more efficient.
